Exceptional 7.49 Carat Natural Olive Green Chrysoberyl
Impressive in size and beautifully responsive to its surroundings, this 7.49 carat natural chrysoberyl from Ceylon displays an elegant combination of olive green, yellow-green and subtle champagne tones.
Under warmer illumination, the gemstone can take on a richer golden to yellowish-orange appearance. This lighting-responsive character gives the stone a distinctive personality without overpowering its naturally sophisticated color.
Carefully cut and polished into an elongated rectangular modified radiant cut, the gemstone measures approximately 13.52 × 7.95 × 6.30 mm. Its clipped corners, broad reflective facets and substantial size create a confident presence suitable for a collector’s gemstone or custom statement jewelry.
Olive Green in Daylight and Golden Under Warm Light
In neutral daylight-style illumination, this natural chrysoberyl appears predominantly pale olive green to yellowish green. Under warmer indoor light, it can appear more golden, champagne or yellowish orange.
The photographs were taken under several light sources to demonstrate how the gemstone may appear in different environments. Its perceived color can also change with viewing angle because chrysoberyl may display natural pleochroism.
One photograph shows a strong purple response under ultraviolet illumination. This is a fluorescence response and should not be interpreted as the gemstone’s normal body color or as proof of an alexandrite color change.
Important classification note: This gemstone is offered as natural chrysoberyl. It is not represented as alexandrite unless that variety is confirmed by an independent gemological laboratory. A subtle green-to-golden shift alone does not establish an alexandrite classification.

A Large Rare Gemstone for Collectors and Custom Jewelry
At 7.49 carats, this loose natural chrysoberyl offers impressive scale for a gemstone collection or a one-of-a-kind fine jewelry design. Its elongated outline could create an elegant statement ring, distinctive pendant or contemporary unisex jewelry piece.
Yellow or rose gold would complement its warmer champagne and golden tones. White gold or platinum could create a cooler contrast and emphasize its olive-green appearance. A minimalist bezel or double-claw setting would suit its clipped corners, while tapered diamonds or colorless sapphire accents could create a refined three-stone design.
Chrysoberyl is known for excellent durability, making it suitable for jewelry when properly assessed and securely set by an experienced jewelry maker.
Authenticity and Optional Laboratory Testing
The gemstone includes Sapphire Pal’s authenticity confirmation. Independent testing through GSL Australia may also be arranged upon request for an additional fee.
Laboratory testing is strongly recommended when formal confirmation of the gemstone identity, geographic origin, treatment status or possible color-change classification is important to the purchase.
